Ambrose Phillip,
Grenada, Chairman
|
Ambrose Phillip is a 1981 graduate of the Management Studies Program of the University of the West Indies. He holds an M.Sc in Ports & Shipping Administration from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden, graduating in 1993 and a Certificate in Legal Education from UWI.
Mr. Phillip has been engaged by the Grenada Ports Authority since 1984. He was the Port Manager during 1988-1990 and has been the General Manager since. He is also Grenada’s Director of Maritime Affairs, and, in this capacity, is the national focal point for the IMO, IOPCF, the Caribbean MoU on Port State Control, and the Maritime & Transport Committee of the Association of Caribbean States.
As a trained mediator, Mr. Phillip is a practicing member of the panel of court-appointed mediators of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court-Connected Mediation Programme. Mr. Phillip also has served as a Director of the Public Service Credit Union, one of the country’s largest credit unions, for over nine (9) years and he has also held directorships on the Grenada Board of Tourism and the National Stadium Authority.
Mr. Phillip has been Chairman of Grenreal since 2006.

Nigel John,
Grenada, Member |
Nigel John (1971) graduated with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of the West Indies (UWI) in 1993. Since then he has completed a certificate short course in Project Management at UWI in 1995 and a course in Procurement using World Bank Procurement Guidelines in 2002.
In 1993 Mr. John was employed as a graduate Engineer with the firm Joseph John and Associates Limited, a firm started by his father in 1983. In January 1998 Mr. John accepted an employment contract with the Government of Botswana as a Civil Engineer with the Ministry of Local Government and Development, a contract that terminated normally in the year 2000. Mr. John rejoined the family firm upon return from Botswana until 2002 when he was contracted to serve as Procurement Expert/Engineer at the World Bank mandated Project Co-ordination Unit of the Ministry of Finance in Grenada, a 2-year contract he successfully completed in 2004. From 2004 Mr. John has remained with Joseph John and Associates Limited as Managing Director.
Mr. John has held directorships in the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) ultimately becoming the President for three consecutive terms from 2004 to 2007. He also served as Vice President of the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC) for OECS Affairs before being elected President in 2007, normally a single 2-year term. Mr. John also held the presidency of the Scout Association of Grenada and was a director of the National Water and Sewerage Authority. Mr. John is a founding member of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court-Connected Mediation Committee and is a Board member of the Gravel, Concrete and Emulsion Corporation (deputy chairman) and the newly formed National Procurement Authority (deputy chairman). Mr. John is currently the chairman of the Grenada Ports Authority.

Alfred Logie,
Grenada, Member |
Alfred P. Logie (1959) is the Executive Director of the National Insurance Scheme of Grenada. Prior to joining the National Insurance Scheme he was CEO and Secretary of the Grenada Cooperative Nutmeg Association.
Alfred P. Logie holds a Licentiate degree in economic planning and is an Accredited Director.
He sits on Boards of various companies, Non-governmental organisation and community group in Grenada.

| Philbert Lewis, Grenada, Member |
Philbert Lewis (1957) holds a post graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of The West Indies, a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Technology, Jamaica, and a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians, MAAT.
Philbert Lewis has been a Human Resource practitioner for the past fourteen years, having served in the capacity of Human Resource Manager at two of the largest company in Grenada, first at Grenada Electricity Services Ltd. (Grenlec) and currently at Jonas Browne and Hubbard (G’da) Ltd.
While at Grenlec he acted in the capacity of General Manager on numerous occasions and headed the company’s negotiating team with respect to Collective Bargaining.
Philbert Lewis has experience in serving at the policy setting level, having served as a Board Member (Employers’ representative) at the National Insurance Scheme between 2004 and 2006, at which time he chaired the Human Resource committee and headed the negotiating team. He is the Current Chairman of the National Insurance Scheme, and also served as a Director (Employees’ representative) at GRENLEC.
He is a former President of the Grenada Employers’ Federation, and served for four consecutive years in this capacity between 2001 and 2005.
An active credit unionist, Philbert Lewis has served the Communal Cooperative Credit Union in various capacities, which include Chairman of the Investment and Human Resource committees, member of the Supervisory committee, member of the Credit Committee and Treasurer on two occasions.
He is involved in community activity, currently serving on the advisory committee of the Chantimelle Organization for Development.

| Ronald L. Hughes, Grenada, Member |
Ronald L. Hughes entered the Insurance Industry in 1984 when he joined Caribbean Insurance Company Ltd. which was subsequently rebranded Trans Nemwil Insurance Ltd. Grenada. Mr. Hughes worked in most Departments of the Company and held the positions of Marketing Manager and Claims Manager before being appointed General Manager on March 1, 1997 and then Managing Director on July 1, 1998.
Much of his training was received through the Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Academy, The Insurance Institute of America and The National Leadership Institute/CPCU Society. Currently, Mr. Hughes is an Executive Member and a past President of the Association of Grenada Insurance Companies.

| Winston Whyte, Grenada, Member |
Winston Whyte, a trained journalist from Princera College of Arts served as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Grenada between 1969 and 1975 and as a Member of Parliament between 1976 to 1979.
Mr. Whyte who is also a Published author and Prize-winning poet has served on many corporate boards in the private sector. He is currently a director of Zublin Grenada Ltd. and the St. George’s Newport Property Development Company Ltd.

| Hendrik A. van Dijk, Netherlands, Member and CEO |
Hendrik Antoon van Dijk (1946) is Chief Executive Officer of Zublin Grenada Ltd., the development company of the new cruise ship facility and adjacent reclaimed lands. He currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of Grenreal Property Corporation Ltd.
Mr. van Dijk graduated from the University of Delft with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering in 1972. He joined the international consulting firm Grabowsky and Poort in 1977 where he served as Managing Partner from 1986 through 1993 when the company merged into Arcadis NV, one of the top international consulting firms.
Mr. van Dijk served as a member of the Executive Board of Arcadis until he joined Zublin Construction Company in Switzerland in 1998 to undertake a turn around which he completed in 2004. Mr. van Dijk has an extensive international experience in large scale area development, real estate development and property management as well as with related financing schemes.

| Sükrü Evrengün, Switzerland, Member |
Sükrü Evrengün is the finance director of Zublin Grenada Ltd. Mr. Evrengün graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a Masters degree in Fiscal Law in 1985. After graduation, he enrolled in the management trainee program at ABN-AMRO Bank in Amsterdam. In 1988 Mr. Evrengün joined the Citco Group, where he worked for eleven (11) years in managerial positions in both the trust and banking operations, in the Netherlands Antilles, Aruba, Netherlands, BVI and Switzerland.
After leaving Citco in 1999, Mr. Evrengün established himself as an independent corporate finance consultant in Switzerland and co-founded Circle Partners in 2000, an international financial services group, which at present services assets of over US$ 3 billion, with offices in the Netherlands, Switzerland and the BVI.
Mr. Evrengün concluded the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School in 1995 and serves as an independent director on the board of various investment funds and international companies.
